Kalvin – President
Madeline – Co-President
My name is Kalvin and my Co-Presidents are Madeline & Samantha. We are eighth graders St. Joseph School in Fremont.
I am involved in basketball and volleyball, which is how I spend much of my time. Madeline is involved in cross country and volleyball. We both have been involved with our schools drama program for the past 3 years. Samantha is involved in dance, piano and Girls Scouts. While we love our extra-curriculars, we also want to make an impact in our community our last year at St. Joseph School.
We are leading our school chapter of Shoecyclist because we would like to help our community in any way we can. This program helps out the less fortunate and helps out our environment as well. By participating in the Nike Grind program it will help make the future a better place to live in. We hope that the little mark we may make on the environment right now and in the future will help with decreasing landfill items.
Our goal is to involve our whole student body in this program. We will lead our 8th grade class into getting our entire school K-8 motivated to donate unused or no longer wanted athletic shoes. We also hope to have this program become a 8th Grade Class tradition that will be carried out every year at St. Joseph School for many years to follow.
More updates will come shortly after we get results of our first shoe drive which is going to be happening very shortly.
